Music & Arts
The arts exist to give each of us a personal and corporate avenue of expression to God. The Music and Arts Ministries of Shawnee Church of the Nazarene exist for the purpose of development of those expressions in the congregation as well as in leadership.
The worship choir helps lead the congregation into the presence of God. Individuals who are quick to express their adoration of the Lord and are genuine in that expression can add greatly to the ministry of the choir. Add- The worship choir is open to everyone. No rehearsal on Wednesday nights just report to the choir room on Sundays at 930am.
Ensemble choir- The ensemble choir meets during the school year from August to May. They rehearse in the choir room on Wednesday nights from 7-8pm. Amanda Kimbrough leads the choir and they perform a special the last Sunday of each month for service. In addition, they perform for special services during Christmas, Lent and Easter.
The worship band provides leadership as we use music as an avenue to corporately worship our awesome God each week. The worship band practices on Wednesdays 6:30-7:30pm. Being a part of the band requires a high skill level and time commitment; singers, guitar, drums and keys players rotate throughout the month.
The tech team exists behind the scenes often to provide vital audio and visual support in weekly worship. Serving on the tech team requires a high skill level; training is available!
